According to The Mirror Arsenal have failed in a €23million (£19.7million) bid for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender, according to reports in Germany.
The 24-year-old Germany international is contracted to the Bundesliga side until 2017, and having sold
right-back Dani Carvajal to Real Madrid and Andre Schurrle to Chelsea this summer they are reluctant to lose any more first-teamers.Bender signed from 1860 Munich in 2009 and has amasssed nearly 150 appearances at the BayArena.
Bender would be the first choice defensive midfielder for many clubs in the world,he is not just a dm who makes crunching tackles but is also very good technically,he is versatile, comfortable with the ball the ball at his feet can build from the back and would fit perfectly in Arsenal's style, his anticipation, positioning and concentration are an important part of what makes him a very good defensive player.Bender also has 14 caps for the German national team
Appearance(Subs) 32(1)

Avg passes(Pass completion %) 44.7(79.3)

The chances of a transfer seem unlikely from what I have heard its not a matter of money for Leverkusen they don't want to sell another key player as they have already sold two important players.Should Arsenal sign Bender and will it be possible for them to convince Leverkusen?Post your comments to tell your opinion
